The Common Krait (Bangarus caeruleus) is the most venomous snake form the top five most venomous snakes in Sri Lanka, also known as Indian krait. And it is among the "big four" species, the most dangerous bites on human in India.
Bangarus genus spread throughout in the Indian sub continent, mostly found in South India, West Bengal and in Sri Lanka. In sri Lanka it found in zone.
The Common Krait spends the day time in termite mounds, brick piles, rat holes or beneath debris very lazily. However, at night the snake runs for feeds and it is very active. As usually snakes of Elapidea family feeds other snakes, sometimes they feeds their small snakes too. And also feeds small mammals, lizards and frogs.
Their venom includes mostly the neurotoxins. Most of human bites are happen at night. It is very difficult to identify the Krait bite, however the victim feels less pain and aberrant symptoms, such as abdomen pains, breathing inconvenience, blindness or inability to talk.
